Immaculate Heart of Mary Ministries has been involved for the last two years in prison ministry at a Columbia Correctional Institute. We are sharing the gospel, working in conjunction with the Marian Prayer Center, and Father Sam Vincent Pietro, offering the sacraments. We teach all Christian denominations and sponsor R.C.I.A classes for those who have faithfully attended classes upon departure of the institute. We currently have two needs. One, we seek a local Spanish speaking priest who can give a Mass to the general population once a month. Secondly, we have a reasonable amount of faithful Catholic prisoners who are released with neither family nor funds to begin again. We are praying and seeking a building to expose the Blessed Sacrament, to provide a place of lodging for there first few months and hopefully also a soup kitchen to provide work and funds for both the prisoners and the building itself.
